William L. Huss, CPA
Hailing from Freedom, Wisconsin, William L. (Bill) Huss is a 1978 graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with an Accounting emphasis. Upon graduation, he worked in Public Accounting for a large regional firm, before pursuing a career in the private sector.
After earning his CPA certificate in 1982, over the next 20 years Bill held various Controller/CFO positions with small and medium-sized companies in industries such as manufacturing, retail, wholesale, non-profit and professional services. He also was responsible for arranging and maintaining all banking relationships, including adherence to loan covenants. In addition, he performed due diligence work related to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and has served as corporate Secretary-Treasurer for a past employer.
For the last 10 years, Bill was employed by AT&T in its Corporate IT Services Company. He obtained invaluable large-company experience in such areas as business unit financial reporting, internal audit and compliance, and Quality Assurance.
Bill has been a member of both the American Institute of CPA's and the Wisconsin Institute of CPA's for over 25 years. In addition, he has served as Board President of the Oshkosh Big Brothers / Big Sisters agency, and has twice been a Big Brother volunteer. He is single, is the proud father of Jared and Allison (Allie) and is the (alleged) co-owner of a lovable, goofy middle-aged Black Lab named Maggie May (so-named after the Rod Stewart song).
In his spare time, Bill enjoys bicycling, working out at the local Anytime Fitness Club (Pewaukee location), reading for pleasure (currently reading Cosmos, by Carl Sagan) and watching the Packers with Jared. He is a member of the Sussex Lions Club. In addition, Bill volunteers his time in the Memory Care Unit of a local Community Home, where he has somehow managed to lose $150 million dollars playing high-stakes Yahtzee with one of the residents! (A payment plan is being negotiated).
